Sub-titled 'A Reference for the Glass Artist', this work, first published in 1993, has been completely revised. Whilst it is aimed at glass artists who wish to establish their dream studio - providing a veritable mine of information on the technical aspects of setting up a glass studio - it also includes tons of information on some glass processes. Whilst the major chapters relate to Batching glass; Annealing; Casting; Refractories; Glory Holes; Burners; and Annealers, there are all sorts of treasures, such as a section on the Klaus Moje method of kiln casting; pate de verre by Alicia Lomne, and information on enamelling on glass and use of lustres.
