We are pleased to stock elements of the Colour de Verre range of reusable moulds for glass casting. Given the level of interest in these products, we are continuing to expand our range. Should you be interested in a particular mould which we currently don't have, please give us a call and we'll endeavour to add it to our next shipment of glass.
The Colour de Verre company was established a few years ago, being cofounded by Craig Smith (President), Lawrence Jacobsen and Jane Persico. The founders based their new product line on innovation, superior design and craftsmanship. since then, Colour de Verre has grown rapidly by incorporating the skills and talents of other artists and crafts people.
The Colour de Verre website (click here to access it) provides a huge range of project ideas and an extensive photo gallery relating to the use of their products.
Colour de Verre prides itself that its moulds are made in small art potteries in Portland, Oregon, rather than being mass-produced in large offshore companies.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDED THE USE OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97) . We do not stock aerosol Boron Nitride products (such as MR-9), as they are classified in Australia as dangerous goods, and must be transported by a suitably accredited carrier in accordance with the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.
Colour de Verre recommends the you give the mould three to four thin, even coats of Primo Primer kiln wash, using a soft artist's brush to apply the primer. They recommend that you do NOT use a haik brush, as this will not pick up the necessary fine detail.
Use a hair dryer to completely dry each coat. The is no need to pre-fire the mould.. Once it is dry, it is ready to fill.
Please not tha due to the fragile nature of the Casting Moulds, we cannot ship them via Express Postage.
