Salamander

To inhabitants of the Pacific Northwest, this Colour de Verre mould resembles the friendly salamanders that inhabit our rainforests. You may prefer to see it as a gecko or lizard.

For best effect, Colour de Verre recommends the use of frit, at least 50% of which should be clear (otherwise the castings will be very dark).  To see our range of fine frits, click here.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDS THE USE  OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97, WHICH IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA). 

Give the mould 3-4 thin, even coats of Primo Primer kiln wash, using a soft artist's brush to apply the Primer (Colour de Verre recommends that you do NOT use a haik brush, as this will not pick up the necessary fine detail).  Use a hair dryer to completely dry each coat before applying the next.

The mould measures approximately 5 cm x 12.7 cm.  It has a fill weight of 65 grams  - this is the amount of glass required to fill the mould properly.
