Each firing of this Colour de Verre mould creates four, assorted tropical fish. Create a whole lagoon by simply varying your frit colours.
The mould measures approximately 20.95 cm x 12.06 x 2.54 cm. The fill weights are 32-36 grams for the large fish and 12-15 grams for the smaller fish - this is the amount of glass required to fill the moulds properly.
For best effect, Colour de Verre recommends the use of frit, at least 50% of which should be clear (otherwise the castings will be very dark). To see our range of fine frits, click here.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDS THE USE OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97, WHICH IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA).
Colour de Verre suggests a cooler than usual firing temperature of about 1290-1310ºF (700-710ºC) for COE 96 and 25ºF (10ºC) hotter for COE 90. The lower temperatures of this firing schedule will preserve the design's delicate edge detail and keep the glass from balling.
