Each firing of this mould creates six pendants in three different sizes: 42 mm, 35 mm and 28 mm. The mould itself measures 20 cm x 14 cm x 2.5 cm. The fill weights are 20, 15 and 7 grams respectively.
Because of the mould’s design and the suggested firing schedules, the pieces are light and perfectly sized. Fill them with frit or use thin sheet dichroic to create exceptional pieces. The pendants can be suspended from leather, rubber, silk, or metal cords to create jewellery ranging from simple and casual to dramatic and elegant.
Due to the way in which the mould is engineered, the beads almost never require any coldworking, grinding or polishing.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT FOR BEST EFFECT, COLOUR DE VERRE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDS THE USE OF HOTLINE PRIMO PRIMER (OR MR-97, WHICH IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA).
Give the mould 3-4 thin, even coats of Primo Primer kiln wash, using a soft artist's brush to apply the Primer (Colour de Verre recommends that you do NOT use a haik brush, as this will not pick up the necessary fine detail). Use a hair dryer to completely dry each coat before applying the next.
