We are working on automating the kiln shipping cost calculations, but it isn't going well. Estimated shipping prices are around $100 to Brisbane and Melbourne, $150 to Perth and Darwin. Please choose studio pickup and bank deposit to purchase and we will email through a full invoice (payable through bank deposit or paypal) including shipping.
To calculate the worst case scenario for shipping costs please visit e-go.com.au and in the big orange box select From: "our depot" - and choose Fyshwick ACT. To: either "our depot" and choose the closest depot to you, or "your location" and enter your suburb. Depot shipping is approximately 15% cheaper.
The shipping dimensions of this kiln are 88cm x 68cm x 51cm and the weight is 75kg.
Actual shipping costs will be cheaper - we get a discount which we pass on to you.
Based on the incredibly popular and successful DIY kiln range that we have been making for over a decade - we are introducing a range of ready to use kilns.
Substantial improvements have been made over the original DIY kilns, from the availability of state of the art controller options through to custom made handles and hinges - each component of these new kilns has been carefully selected or created to ensure these are among the best glass kilns available anywhere in the world.
These new kilns are smaller in external size without compromising the level of insulation thanks to new materials and a more efficient design process.
Internal sizing was chosen to enable the use of the most common shelf sizes - This kiln will handle up to twin 30cm x 30cm shelves.
All materials possible are grown, produced or manufactured in Australia. Only the controller box contains foreign sourced products.
Certified, responsibly sourced, Australian timber is used for all handles.
We are offering a choice of an economical 3-key controller, or a Genesis Mini controller with a Solid State Relay for near silent operation.
4 rows of elements in each kiln provide excellent thermal coverage to ensure even heat distribution - while providing extra heat from the top of the kiln to give fired glasses the best possible finish.
Thermocouple placement is both centered and mid-height to get as accurate as possible measurements while encroaching as little as possible into the usable kiln space.
We have tested these new kiln designs for over a year, and have had them in testing studios around the country for the past six months to get feedback on their performance before bringing them to market.
We are providing a world leading warranty for all kilns of 5 years for all non consumable parts (elements and relays). As an Australian company we comply fully with our requirements under the ACL in addition to our standard warranty.
Key features:
Incredibly energy efficient.
Operates on 20 amps of power - 240V AC 20 amps - Comes as standard ready for hardwiring as it is our strong recommendation for 20 amp kilns, but an Australian Standard 20amp plug can be fitted on request for no additional charge. Other plug types are available to be fitted for the cost of the plug.
Designed temperature range 650° ~ 850 °C – maximum temperature of 1050°C. All refractories are rated to at least 1100°C.
Fully enclosed in a solid stainless steel box for incredible strength - We chose 1.6mm thick stainless for all of the kilns to ensure that they are as strong as possible.
Multiple layer insulation reduces firing costs (equivalent to 15cm of fire brick) compared with most designs at 7.5cm.
Rectangular interior.
Fully complies with Australian Safety standards, and is certified to display the Regulatory Compliance Mark.
Integrated lid safety switch.
Both controller options include a safety relay to prevent thermal runaway.
Both controller options are actively cooled to extend the life of electrical components.
